UK football names captains
UK head coach Joker Phillips announced who the team captains would be at his Monday morning news conference.
Junior wide receiver and all-purpose player Randall Cobb was named offensive captain, while senior defensive end DeQuin Evans, known as “DQ” to his teammates, was named defensive captain in just his second year with the Cats. Evans arrived on campus last summer after spending two years at junior college.
For the Sept.4 season opener against Louisville, there will be two more game captains joining Cobb and Evans at the center field logo for the coin toss. Fifth-year senior quarterback Mike Hartline was named offensive captain for the game and senior defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin was named a defensive game captain.
