UK hoops signee named Kentucky Miss Basketball

Sarah Beth Barnette, a 6-foot-1 forward at Lexington Christian Academy and member of UK’s 2010 recruiting class, was named Kentucky Miss Basketball on Wednesday.

Barnette becomes the fourth in the last six years and second straight Kentucky Miss Basketball, following freshman guard A’dia Mathies, to play for the Cats. UK sophomore guard Rebecca Gray was the 2007 recipient of the award.
