Calipari a finalist for national Coach of the Year award

A potential national title and the Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament titles may not be the only thing UK head coach John Calipari may be able to use to taunt his peers for not voting him as the coaches’ choice SEC Coach of the Year.

That coaches snub was somewhat lessened when Calipari was voted SEC Coach of the Year by the AP.

But the full reward could come in a few weeks because on Thursday, Calipari was named a finalist for the Naismith Coach of the Year award.

It was a wonder when Calipari wasn’t honored by his fellow coaches a couple of weeks ago, but now the wonder is growing larger and larger. Especially if Cal wins the national Coach of the Year award.

Maybe the fellow SEC coaches really don’t like UK’s head man.
