UK drops in the polls

After a two-loss week that included defeats at Tennessee and Auburn, the UK women’s basketball team (23-6, 11-5 in the Southeastern Conference) fell in the last batch of the polls based on regular season results.

In the AP poll, released on Monday, UK dropped from No. 16 to No. 19. On Tuesday, the Cats dropped in the coaches’ poll, too, from No. 14 last week to No. 18 this week.

Of course, the sweep of the SEC awards by UK head coach Matthew Mitchell and his players, Victoria Dunlap and A’dia Mathies, most likely made this drop an afterthought. That is, if the polls aren’t already an afterthought for Mitchell and Co.
