UK sweeps weekly awards

For the second time in four weeks junior forward Victoria Dunlap and freshman guard A’dia Mathies have completed the sweep of the SEC Weekly Awards.

Dunlap was named SEC Player of the Week after averaging a team-high 15.5 points in UK’s two big wins over Florida and South Carolina. Dunlap also recorded seven steals last week, which moved her to No.5 all-time on UK’s career steals list with 84.

Mathies was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 11 points and six rebounds in UK’s two victories. Like Dunlap, Mathies is also moving steadily up the career steals list, and her four steals moved her total to 68 for the season, one shy of tying the UK freshman steals record set by Stacey Reed in 1991-92.

The honor was Dunlap’s fourth of the season, while Mathies has earned FOW three times this season.
