Cousins named SEC Freshman of the Week
DeMarcus Cousins is the man, again.
So says the Southeastern Conference. Cousins has been named week 15′s SEC Freshman of the Week. It’s the big man’s fourth Freshman of the Week honor on the season.
Cousins averaged 19 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of UK road wins over Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. Cousins has scored in double-figures in 18 of his last 19 games, and has recorded 16 double-doubles on the season.
Cousins was named Freshman of the Week for weeks 7, 11 and 13. He was named Player of the Week during week eight.
Combining Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week, it’s UK’s 13th honor this season. A UK player has been named either Player of the Week or Freshman of the Week in 12 of the 15 weeks this season.
