Freshmen pitchers pace UK baseball to 6-0 win

In the second game of a young season, UK (2-0) rode two young arms to victory.

Freshman pitcher Taylor Rogers threw 7.2 innings of shutout baseball in his first collegiate start as UK took down West Virginia, 6-0.  He gave up six hits and struck out two.

Fellow freshman pitcher Jordan Cooper, also making his first collegiate appearance on the mound, finished out the game.

UK scored its six runs on 13 hits.  Senior outfielder Keenan Wiley paced the offense with three hits and two RBI.  Four other Cats knocked in one run apiece.

UK continues play in the Caravelle Resort Tournament against Coastal Carolina.  The two teams square off Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
