Cats vs. Dores will be a battle for top of SEC

Here’s a fact I feel is being a little under-reported about today’s game in Nasvhille — the winner will be top the SEC East standings, which puts that team as the top team in the Southeastern Conference.

Obviously, that makes this a pretty big game for both teams. But it doesn’t have that type of billing, for some odd reason. Probably because of the way the Cats handled the Commodores in Rupp Arena.

But Memorial Gym is a different kind of monster than UK’s has faced this year and it has a tendency to eat freshmen alive. UK, notably, depends on its freshmen a lot.

Could be an interesting game down in Nashville, with an outcome that not many expect.

Then again, if the Cats pull this one out, they’ll probably be coasting to their 44th SEC crown. Kind of an interesting thought.

Not that a loss would necessarily kill that opportunity for UK either.

Just something to remember before tip-off today. This one is a big one.
