Cats should move up in the polls

The Cats drive to back to the top spot in the rankings got a little easier on Saturday.

UK (22-1) romped over Louisiana State to help its cause. And another set of Wildcats, from Villanova, did the rest, losing to No. 8 Georgetown in Washington D.C. Villanova was the No. 2 ranked team in both the AP and Coaches polls.

The Cats, No. 3 in the Coaches poll, should move up to No. 2. Syracuse, who is ahead of UK in the AP poll, should remain there after being Cincinnati on Sunday, leaving the Cats ranked at No. 3 by the writer’s.

Kansas, ranked No. 1 in both polls, defeated Nebraska, but has a showdown No. 10 Texas on Monday in Austin, Texas.

We’ll know for sure on Monday afternoon, but until then, expect the Cats to move up ever so slightly in both polls.
