Game Notes from UK’s 101-70 win
- UK’s 101-70 rout of Arkansas improved the Cats to 19-0 on the season and 4-0 in the Southeastern Conference. The Cats and Vanderbilt are the lone unbeaten teams in SEC play. UK is the only team that is still unbeaten overall.
- This is only the third time in UK history the Cats have begun a season with at least 19 straight wins.
- On Monday, if the Cats take over the No. 1 overall seed it will be the third different school that Calipari has taken to a No. 1 ranking.
- Calipari has won 65 straight conference games, including conference tournaments. The Arkansas win breaks Adolph Rupp’s NCAA record of 64 consecutive league wins dating back from 1945-50.
- UK started the first half on a 10-0 run and the second half on a 14-0 run.
- UK’s largest lead of the game was 46 points.
- 12 of UK’s 13 players scored on Saturday. Senior guard Mark Krebs was the only player not to register any points.
- It is the first time UK has ever scored 100 points against Arkansas.
- The Cats outrebounded the Razorbacks 59-39, and outscored the Razorbacks in the paint 42-30.
- UK registered nine blocks in the game. Freshman forward Daniel Orton had four blocks.
- UK shot 48.1 percent, Arkansas shot 30.6 percent.
- Junior forward Patrick Patterson was the only player to not score double digits in points. Patterson finished with nine points. Darius Miller scored 18, DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall scored 16, Eric Bledsoe had 10.
- Bledsoe finished the game with 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
- Freshman guard Jon Hood went 1-for-2 from the field, scoring three points, one rebound and one assist.
- Cousins finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds. It’s his 10th double-double of the season, one short of the UK freshman record.
- Miller’s 18 points was a career-high.
- Wall has scored in double figures in every game but one this season.
- Bledsoe tied season highs in rebounds and assists.
- UK held the SEC’s second leading scorer, Rotnei Clarke, to 13 points on 5-of-15 shooting.
- Saturday’s attendance was 24,356. It was the third-largest attendance of the season.
