ESPN.com’s Chris Low, the SEC blogger, had a great post outlining the bowl gifts players on each team in the league will receive from their postseason destinations.

Bowls can give up to $500 in gifts to 125 participants from each team, and schools can purchase $350 in gifts for their players as well. According to Low, the Music City Bowl will be giving the Cats and Tigers an RCA Camcorder, a Fossil Watch, a fleece pullover from Majestic, a New Era hat, and a laptop case.

That’s not a bad haul. But what does that mean to regular students? For $500, you could buy:

250 $2 tickets (the minimum bet) at Keeneland

29 copies of “Bounce Back,” John Calipari’s book released earlier this year

8 official 2009 basketball practice hoodies (Kennedy’s)
