Ace lefty Paxton files suit against UK

Some big UK news broken by The New York Times’ sports blog late tonight.

“The Quad”reported that James Paxton, a senior left-hander on the UK baseball team, is suing UK in state court. The suit alleges that UK athletic director told Paxton he had to meet with NCAA investigators before he would be allowed to play for the Cats. Paxton was also instructed by UK officials to not tell his parents or a lawyer about the meeting with the investigators.

No one would tell Paxton what the nature of the allegations against him were.

Paxton was the 37th overall choice in the MLB draft over the summer, but returned to UK after deciding to not sign with the Toronto Blue Jays.
